NOT suitable for sales promotion #8: I CAN'T GET BACK FOR ME

As part of the promotion for the upcoming NOT CD release, Private Scandal's Japan Representative, Kiichi-Vader has conducted a series of interview with NOT's vocalist/guitarist, Hidde. These interviews are being published in Japanese on the Mr's Instagram account and in English here.

NOT suitable for sales promotion #8: I CAN'T GET BACK FOR ME

"I took a lot of LSD back in the day. This song is about what I thought at that time, confronting my past self from many years ago. The literal translation is "I can't go back," but I wanted to say, "I don't want to go back to my old self!".... not in a negative sense. But right now, I really want to go back! haha" - Hidde

Kiichi: We performed this song with the C&C. I think I wrote the Japanese lyrics, but we only performed it live about two times.

Hidde: That's right.

Kiichi: Speaking of which, I found some information about NOT. Take a look at this (see photo below).
Is this what the band was called before you became NOT?

Ticket for the first NOT gig where they performed using the name Electric Bullets.

Hidde: Ah... so this has finally been revealed... What happened was, we were asked to play at this gig but we hadn't decided on a band name yet. We were discussing what we should name the band, and Joe (the drummer) said, "I want to use the word bullets."

Kiichi: I see.

Hidde: I thought, "Eh! That's not good!" but I didn't want to completely reject it, so we decided, "Okay, let's put Electric at the beginning," and that's how we got the name Electric Bullets.

Kiichi: So, does that mean Electric Bullets and NOT are the same band after all?

Hidde: Yeah, well... we played the same songs as NOT, so... I guess so...

Kiichi: I heard that you may have done a couple of shows using the name Electric Bullets.

Hidde: No, we only did one show using that name.

Kiichi: I see. I think the name NOT suits the atmosphere of the songs better.

Hidde: Yeah. I'd rather people didn't know about the name Electric Bullets...

The final NOT line-up. Hidde, Kinta, and Kengo.

Kiichi: Don't worry about it. I'm running out of things to write about, so this information is appreciated (laughs). Plus, I don't think the name Electric Bullets is that bad either. I think it would be good to perform using this name at the gig in January (laughs).

Hidde: Absolutely not! I really hated that name!

Kiichi: I guess, "I can't get back for me!" applies to this situation, too (laughs).

Hidde: That's right! I don't want to go back to our old band name!
