As part of the promotion for the upcoming NOT CD release, Private Scandal's Japan Representative, Kiichi-Vader has conducted a series of interview with NOT's vocalist/guitarist, Hidde. These interviews are being published in Japanese on the Mr's Instagram account and in English here.
NOT suitable for sales promotion #7: BILLIARDS CAR CRASH
I was working as a driver at the time, but it was a really shitty company, so I used that as an excuse to quit.
After that, I started working at Hiroshi's place, and I worked with Yoshiki, Kengo, Yasu, and Kengo's Dad almost every day.*
The chorus goes "Car crash no more! (in English)", so I'm saying no more car crashes!" - Hidde
Kiichi: Calling a pileup a "billiards car crash" is pretty funny. (laughs) Wait...? Is that really what it's called in English?
Hidde: I dunno, It's a phonetic spelling.
Kiichi: Yeah! But how do you actually say it in English? I'll look into it later... So, I heard that you were in an accident, but I don't know any of the details.
Hidde: Well, Nao (former bassist of The Manks) brought a ton of beer and
came to hang out at Minx.**
So, we all got drunk and were driving home, and on the way
home, we crashed into a car that was parked in front of us.

Kiichi: And then that car crashed into another car in front of that...
Hidde: Right... It was a Celsior Full Smoke***, and I thought we were done for...
Kiichi: So... in short, it's all Nao's fault? (laughs)
Hidde: Exactly. If only he hadn't brought so much beer. (laughs)
Kiichi: It's a strange coincidence that Nao, the one who caused that accident, is now playing bass for the C&C.
Hidde: Yeah... that's true...
Kiichi: And the fact that NOT and The Manks CDs are gonna be released at the same time.
Hidde: That's true...
Kiichi: Initally, I was a little confused about The Manks CD release. I was talking to Nori, the vocalist for The Manks, a while back, and he said, "Oh, by the way, Connor said he wanted to release a Manks CD."
Hidde: Go on...
Kiichi: But then, I had to get to the bottom of it and I re-read Connor's messages again, and he said he wanted to include No Slip on an upcoming release we're working on, not The Manks...
Hidde: No Slip? Why does that name ring a bell?
Kiichi: No Slip was the band that Nao played in after he left The Manks. I got confused because Nao was in both bands.
Hidde: So Nao is at the centre of all this?
Kiichi: Right! (laughs) I felt bad for Nori, but it was such a complicated story that I just left it and didn't enquire further.
Then, a while later, Nori called me and said,
"Connor contacted me and asked if I wanted to release a Manks CD."

Hidde: Huh? What do you mean?
Kiichi: Connor and I never even discussed making a Manks CD. Connor was the one who thought, "Let's make a Manks CD!" and took action.
Hidde: That's some incredible initiative.
Kiichi: That's right! Thanks to him, I didn't have to lie to Nori!
Hidde: He really saved your ass then (laughs)
Kiichi: Yeah, but I told Nori the truth the other day when I met up with him.
I also apologised for the fact that even though I call myself the head of
the Private Scandal Chiba branch, I haven't done any promotion for The Manks, even though they're from Chiba.
But... they get way more likes than me on the SPIT-tn Instagram, so I don't need to!
Hidde: Why mess with a good thing?! (laughs)

| NOT Live. In this photo, Hidde is wearing a jinbei (甚平), a type of traditional garment given to him by Kiichi. He's wearing it as he was inspired by the band Gedo. |
*Hiroshi, was the second bassist of The Snipe. He later became the vocalist for a band called The Bantams and currently runs his own construction business.
Yoshiki (aka Yottsu), Kengo's childhood friend. He was the original guitarist for The Snipe, later he became the bassist for a band called Tester, then joined ヨンブンノイチ (Yonbunnoichi).
Yasu, is former bassist for The Bantams. Has a great sense of humour. He and Hidde are also gaming buddies.
**Minx was originally a karaoke studio, they rented it, renovated it, and turned it into a practice space.
Room 7 was shared by four bands: The Johnny Five, ヨンブンノイチ (Yonbunnoichi),
NOT, and スケコマシ (Sukekomashi).
Currently, rooms 1 and 2 are used and run by Chiba LOOK
staff member Aoki as "Recording Studio Minx." - the recent Spunky Boys CD was mastered here.
